places we will visit
Son Ganxo Caves
Just a few minutes from Punta Prima beach and opposite Isla del Aire, you’ll find this wonderful shallow, white-sand cove. You can stand and enjoy a pleasant swim in its turquoise waters.
Punta Prima
This is a beach well known for its views of Isla del Aire and its many services and restaurants. Here, you’ll find turquoise seabeds mixed with extensive meadows of posidonia seaweed. This beach is located right in the middle of the southern Menorca marine reserve, making snorkeling a marvel.
Caló Roig
This small cove is located on the Camí de Cavalls between Punta Prima Beach and Cala Alcaufar. It’s a very quiet and secluded spot with white sand access to the sea, big enough for no more than four towels. It’s a fantastic place to snorkel, explore some small caves, and enjoy panoramic views of the Torre de Alcaufar.
Cala Alcaufar
In the municipality of San Luis, you’ll find this small, family-friendly beach where you can enjoy a swim, even during peak season. It has a special charm that will captivate you with its piers and small houses. You’ll also enter the largest cave in the entire south of the island, just below the Alcaufar Tower.
Cala Rafalet
One of our favorite spots, you can feel the magic of this place as soon as you arrive. Surrounded by impressive cliffs and unspoiled nature, here we find the Cala Rafalet cave, for us the most striking cave in all of southern Menorca, with its unique backdrop and light contrasts. We’ll enjoy a spectacular swim to discover every corner of this magical place.
Isla del Aire
Right in the center of the southern Menorca marine reserve, the most incredible stop is undoubtedly this island, where we’ll disembark to walk around its large lighthouse and the thousands of black lizards that inhabit it. This is one of the places in the world with the most reptiles per square meter! It’s worth noting that they’re not dangerous; on the contrary, they’re super friendly and will climb onto your hand with just a little patience. Both children and adults love this place and will have one of the most unforgettable moments of their vacation.

We were a family of 9 and had the most lovely boat trip with Alain on the Black Lizard. He took us to some great swimming spots, provided snorkels and a paddle board, the snacks were very tasty and we loved the cold drinks. Alain has a good knowledge of the island and gave us lots of interesting information. We really enjoyed the visit to the Isle of Aire and seeing the famous black lizards. It was a great afternoon out and good value for money. Lisa Moody2024-10-01Trustindex verifica que la fuente original de la reseña sea Google. Went on this trip June 2024. What a great trip! We met Alan near punta Prima Beach while he was handing our leaflets. He was very friendly from the get and gave us the leaflet with information and told us when the next trip would approximately me (due to the weather not being great at the time). We messaged him via WhatsApp to do the 3 hour trip in the morning. He was very responsive and kind. Confirmed our booking, no deposit required, and sent us a pinned location on Google maps to meet him. It was about a 20-minute, easy walk from our hotel. It was easy to find and a beautiful location. We met him and our group at 9:30. He set up the boat along with his lovely partner, Zuri. Both were so welcoming and kind throughout. We met with an older couple and a family of three with their adult daughter and set out as a group of 9 all in all. The boat was comfortable and spacious, and the views were breathtaking. Both Alan and Zuri were very knowledgeable of the area and different historical points. We stopped to take in the coastal views while they told us information about the area. They helped us take pictures, too. The weather was beautiful, and we stopped twice to snorkel (with gear provided by them) and swim. We saw so many fish! We even visited Illa de l'Aire (also known as black lizard island) to see all the little lizards and visit the lighthouse. We were provided with drink refreshments at this point and walked the path to the lighthouse. We could even see Majorca as the visibility was so clear. They told us the history of the island, and we held the little lizards as they crawled onto your hand if you were still enough. The group and Alan and Zuri really made this a great experience. The time flew by, and we couldn't believe it was time to head back after another swim and cave visit. This is truly not an experience to miss. I highly recommend booking with Alan for this experience. Contact him first to see if he is running the trips as it is weather dependent, but I promise you will not be disappointed! Thank you again, Alan and Zuri, for a trip to remember. :) shellie pickles2024-09-25Trustindex verifica que la fuente original de la reseña sea Google. Black lizards boat tour was brilliant. One of the highlights of the trip Robert Bird2024-09-15Trustindex verifica que la fuente original de la reseña sea Google. Great 1/2 day trip from Biniancolla. Small bay with easy access and parking compared to trying to get into Mahon and park. Trip covers the Illa de L’Aire and beach/coves on the South East part of the island. Great skipper who knows the island well. Really flexible to stop and change the itinerary to do what you want (swimming, snorkelling or SUP) and gives you info about the island. Stopped in some beautiful bays to swim that you couldn’t get to without a boat. Nice little snack and drink at the end. There were 7 of us so plenty of room on the boat. Would highly recommend. Amanda Donnelley2024-09-02Trustindex verifica que la fuente original de la reseña sea Google. This was a great tour, we booked last min. The night before. The boat is fine I wouldn’t take more than 10. 8ish would be perfect with room to move around. The walk around the island was a little long would have preferred a third swimming spot. And not so much time seeing some of the more popular beaches 😬. ¡No podíamos elegir mejor! La primera vez de muchas. Joe, el encargado de gestionar los kayaks, súper amable y encantador. La simpatía de este y sus recomendaciones (ir a la isla del aire y a una cueva) hicieron que me entren ganas de volver.
